MYOB Hosting FAQs

How many users can access concurrently?

IAMHOSTED has no limit to the number of users that can login to our services concurrently. Each user that requires concurrent access needs to have a user account with us.
The number of users that can access your MYOB data concurrently is restricted by the number of licenses you have available for your MYOB software. (I.e. Premier has three licenses and Premier Enterprise has five). You can acquire more licenses for your software as required.

How secure will my information be?

Your data is stored on HP enterprise strength equipment. We run the Windows Server 2008 environment and ensure that our platforms are kept up to date with Microsoft’s security patches and enhancements. Further we use the Symantec Endpoint Security suite to maintain Antivirus and Malware protection on our servers and your data.
Your data is stored behind multiple firewalls (both software and hardware) and managed through strict user policies to prevent unauthorised access.
These servers are located at our data hosting facilities that include 24/7-onsite security and monitored physical access to server equipment.

Where are your servers located?

IAMHOSTED servers are located in Southport Queensland. Our data hosting facilities are hosted in A grade office space, which include multiple power feeds to the Energex network, UPS power supply, monitored 24/ 7 physical access to servers. Our service also includes offsite backup of your company information to a second data centre located in Brisbane.

What up‑time can I expect, what happens if the system 'goes down'?

IAMHOSTED provides 99.95% availability for your applications. All scheduled maintenance will take place with at least 7 days notice.

What support hours do you offer?

We offer two tiers of support.
The first is business hours support from 8am to 5:30pm AEST on business days within Queensland. If you have access to our Premium support pack, support is extended to 24*7.
Support requests can be made online, via email or by calling us.

How can others (accountant etc) access my information?

Each IAMHOSTED plan provides a free user account for your Bookkeeper or Accountant to access your company information. Details on how they can access your information are made available to user’s in the welcome kit.

What happens if we decide to no longer have our software hosted, how do we get our data back?

Should you wish to stop using our services at any stage, your data will be returned to you via Registered Post or a secure website within 7 days (from you advising us of your decision). For those of you that can drop by our offices it can also be collected in person.

What additional programs can be installed and accessed? (Word, excel, email, AOS etc)?

We are also offering a number of other services to our customers including the Microsoft Office suite of products, access to hosted Exchange email servers and the SecureFileLink file-sharing and collaboration platform. For further information on any of these solutions please contact us.

What are the technical requirements (hardware, software, connection type, firewall, etc)?

You will require an Internet connection (broadband preferred) and a computer that runs one of the following Operating systems:

  • Windows 2000;
  • Windows XP;
  • Windows 2003 server;
  • Windows Vista;
  • Windows 2008 server;
  • Windows 7;
  • Max OSX (with Microsoft RDP client installed);

The client application that you use to access your data is (normally) installed on your Windows machine. The application is called Remote Desktop connection, and it will need to be downloaded for Mac platforms from the Microsoft website.

What initial setup is required?

Very little setup is required from your perspective. You will just need to ensure that the minimum technical requirements are met. If you would like to be able to print from your MYOB data, please ensure that you have a good quality printer. Most printers can be used with our service, but if you’re unsure about your printer please contact us with the make and model to ensure that it will be compatible with our service.

Where can I log in from – interstate/international – temporary computers (internet café, hotel etc.)?

Any computer with an Internet connection can be used to access the IAMHOSTED platform from anywhere in the world. In some Internet cafés there may be a requirement to request that connectivity to IAMHOSTED be allowed and this should normally be granted. Ensure that when using public Internet facilities extra care is taken to protect your username and password details. Data should be cleared when you finished using an “untrusted” computer.

What happens if you go out of business?

Your data will be returned to you and will also be available to you through the Secure-ISS Explorer application.

What are the costs?
